Google Updates - Google Shared Stuff

Google has launched a new social link sharing service called Google Shared Stuff. A Blogoscoped forum member has seen the link to this Shared Stuff when he was watching a Google Video... Interesting, how close people watch news related to Google!

"Shared Stuff" lets you share interesting links with your friends and the entire world. You need to drag a bookmarklet to your browser's link bar. A profile page is public and can include information about yourself, a photo, links to your sites. You can select the photo from one of your public Picasa Web Albums.

When you click on the button, a new window pops out and you can choose between posting the page to your profile, emailing it to your contacts or bookmarking the page using services like facebook, del.icio.us or furl.

Google Updates - Google Presentation, Multi-lingual Google Reader and GOOG 411

As usual, Google is making news every day, but this time for launch of Google Presentations. One cool feature I found in Google Presentation is that the presentation can be shared with everyone and any viewer can follow the presenter or take control of the presentation. The preview includes a group chat feature based on Google Talk's gadget that shows the active collaborators and viewers. If all the viewers click on "View presentation", they can watch the presentation at the same time. Google is taking Collaboration to a next level. Thanks Google!

Google Docs in Plain English: 

Google Reader has now learned to speak some new languages. Currently, there is support for Japanese and French. I expect more to come sooner. Check out official Google Reader Blog for more. As well as adding new languages, the logo has now lost the “Labs” beaker icon and the interface appears to have gained the same top navigation bar as services like Search, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Picasa Web Albums and Groups, although I’m not seeing any links to these other services yet.

Also, the US-only “Google Voice Local Search” service for finding local business information, GOOG-411 now has its own mini-site; an updated and simplified version of the old Google Voice Local Search site which, for now, is still available in Labs.Also, Google have improved their new service GOOG 411, a voice local search. Simplicity Sells

New York Times technology columnist David Pogue opens his talk with a rousing musical number about the trials of customer support, then launches into some sharp commentary on "The Software Upgrade Paradox" ("Improve a piece of software enough times, you eventually ruin it"). Next he takes on the worst interface design offenders, the causes of "Software Rage." After a couple of trips back to the piano, Pogue moves to the success stories, offering examples of products that celebrate the power of simplicity.
